Exposed!

You have, no doubt, heard the buzz about Lizzie -- plus size model who's nude, non airbrushed photo in Glamour Magazine brought allot of exposure to the plus size fashion  model industry.

Now Glamour is taking it up a notch with their November issue (on new stands shortly)  where they will feature a several page spread of seven nude "plus size" models.  Glamour is making a commitment to feature women of all sizes in their magazine.

The curvy full figure women featured include Crystal Renn (author of Hungry), Kate Dillon , Ashley Graham, Amy Lemons, Anasa Sims, Jenny Runk and back by popular demand, Lizzie Miller.  All exposing natural tummies & breasts on voluptuous bodies.   Recently interviewed on Ellen these women have "come to terms with their bodies".

I'd like to know, as a plus size woman, how do you feel about this?

I have to agree with others that I was trying to figure out which models in the picture were "plus size". Though I give kudos to glamour, many other magazines have pictured plus size women such as DIVA who just ran an entire fat positive issue.

I wish they had used at least slightly fuller-figured models for this -- size 16s or 18s instead of what I'm guessing are 10s or 12s. Also, I think they could have achieved the same effect if the models were in bikinis or lingerie rather than altogether nude -- or maybe even a better effect. Then, it would be a fashion shoot. AS it is, the picture could be taken ironically: ''Looks like Glamour STILL doesn't have clothes for plus-size bodies.'' On the other hand, I definitely appreciate the fact that they didn't airbrush the models. ALL curves are beautiful, and this picture shows that. But I have to say, I find MXM's plus-size model to be prettier than any of the girls in this photo!
